Medan - FKM USU: FKM USU conducted benchmarking at the Department of Biology, FMIPA, Universitas Indonesia (UI) on August 10 2023 in preparation for FKM USU towards international accreditation. The FKM USU team led by the Dean Prof. Dr. Dra. Ida Yustina, M. Si was received by the Chair of the Biology Department, Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D. and Head of the Undergraduate Biology Study Program, Astari Dwiranti, M.Eng. Ph.D. Two study programs in the Department of Biology, namely the Biology Undergraduate Study Program and the Biology Masters Study Program at UI, have received ASIIN accreditation (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematic). The Chair of the Biology Undergraduate Study Program, Astari on that occasion explained their experience of taking part in ASIIN accreditation, including in preparing the Self Assessment Report (SAR) and the field assessment process. ASIIN is an international accreditation institution originating from Germany for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, biology where the discipline of Public Health is subject to special additional criteria on the subject of life sciences. The FKM USU team then visited the Directorate of Administration, Data and Management of Research and Innovation Products (ADPPRI) UI, where they were received by the Director of ADPPRI Suminto, B.Ak., S. Sos., M.Si and team. The visit of the FKM USU to ADPPRI was to increase insight into journal management strategies towards international indexation. Suminto during the visit introduced ADPPRI as an institution that manages journals published by UI, including the Makara Journal of Science which is currently indexed by Scopus. Editor in Chief Makara Journal of Science, Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Sc. had the opportunity to convey the journey of Makara Journal of Science to become one of UI's Scopus-indexed international journals.
